Mr. Pichit Mitra-arong, President, along with Mr. Sangchai Thirakulwanich, Director of the Bank, and Ms. Ubolrat Kapang, Senior Executive Vice President, along with the International Affairs and Strategy Department executives, warmly welcomed Mr. Natthaphong Phanthakiatpaisan, Honorary Consul of Mongolia in Phuket and Phang Nga Provinces, and the Consulate Counselor.
The discussion, led by Mr. Phichit, addressed opportunities to strengthen relations between Thailand and Mongolia , particularly through business matching with quality SME D Bank customers, covering both consumer goods and service sectors.
Mr. Natthaphong highlighted the opportunities for cooperation between Thai entrepreneurs and Mongolian businesses, which will help expand the economic dimensions of both countries to achieve stable growth.
Meanwhile, Mr. Sangchai, former president of the Federation of Thai SMEs and currently a director of the bank, has proposed a “Quick Win” approach under the name “Thailand-Mongolia Business Matching Camp,” which aims to create a better understanding of both sides’ market needs before the official business matching event in 2026. This proposal has received full support from Mr. Natthaphong and his team of advisors.
Finally, Mr. Phichit emphasized that this discussion represents a window of opportunity for SME D Bank customers to understand Mongolia’s potential in its ambition to enter the global economic arena, with Thai entrepreneurs serving as key strategic partners. A joint working group will be established between the Consulate and SME D Bank to exchange information and jointly develop concrete projects.
